George reviews the Tampa show It was nice to be flying South for some shows after the bone-chilling temps we faced during the winter leg of this tour. This was my first time back in Tampa in over a decade. Big Jeff dropped me off early at the venue to get in line and he headed out to pick up Super Ron and Lauren at the airport. The line situation was a bit chaotic, as two lines had formed for the MetClub early entry (neither of which would actually end up being at the right spot). I got in the line at the Will Call window and waited there until we were able to get our tickets, then moved out to the other early entry line, which ended up being moved over to another set of doors, which of course resulted in people weaseling up front after not having stood in line. One of whom, would later complain during the show that he didn't have enough elbow room on the rail. You're breaking my heart, sir. ![]() (picture courtesy of MetOnTour.com) Gojira and Lamb of God, same old, same old. After seeing the set from the Ft. Lauderdale show two nights before I was thinking that Tampa set was not going to be as strong (I've really been wanting to see "Shortest Straw" live again), but fortunately that was a false assumption. The setlist at Tampa was as strong as any and featured the return of "Through The Never," which I didn't think I'd ever hear live again, along with "Trapped Under Ice," "Harvester of Sorrow," and "Battery," along with the other "standard" songs for this tour. As for the cover song, we were treated to "The Wait," which I also hadn't heard in a while. I was really impressed with the setlist tonight.
The Good: "Through The Never" (and the rest of the set)
