Year ya "discovered" Metallica? The year I discovered Metallica was 1985: I was in 9th grade. I was hanging around and skating with older kids, so my music expanded. I guess I always was into rock-n-roll and was a “metal head,” but this was a whole new thing for me. Once I heard Creeping Death, I was hooked. Thanks Dave and Chris. Guestimate how many Met shows you've seen. I have been to 12 Metallica shows, mostly in Virginia and surrounding areas. My first was during the “Master” tour with Ozzy. (It was actually Cliff’s last show in the U.S., but I guess none of us knew that at the time). I have also seen them in Toyko, Japan, and Honolulu thanks to the Navy. And, for this past tour I went up to Newark, N.J. Since the first show, I can’t get enough. List the 15-18 song setlist that you would like to see Metallica play:
Favorite venue for your Ultimate Met Set? I thought I would never see Metallica in my own backyard, but my dream came true last year when they played John Paul Jones Arena. I know Metallica likes to rock outdoors, so next time they come to Charlottesville, maybe it could be Scott’s Stadium (football field at U.Va.). That would ROCK! Favorite stage set up for your Ultimate Met Set?
There were two sets that I would combine to be a master set. I thought the snake pit was a cool idea, but I never got to experience it. And I liked the “Overload” set, (as I like to call it), from the Load/Reload tour — when everything exploded and went haywire and the guy came out on fire. I didn’t know if it was real or what. I thought that was cool. So, if I could be in the snake pit for the “overload” in Scott’s Stadium, with my set list, … well, they would have to take me to the U.Va. medical center! Thanks for including me on this. I had fun.
