When did you first start listening to Metallica? 1996, when I first entered the Navy. A friend of mine introduced me to all their albums and I became hooked.

When and where was your first Metallica concert? 2004 April 20, Nassau Coliseum. James was sober and so was I. An awesome experience.

How many Metallica concerts have you been to? 1 but hopefully more. I was a late bloomer but it doesn't matter.

Have you met any member of Metallica before? If so, when and where? No, wish I could though.

Favorite Metallica song(s)? For Whom The Bell Tolls

Least favorite Metallica song(s)? Memory Remains, Metallica could have done without Marianne Faithfull. It took something away from the song.

Favorite Metallica album(s)? And Justice For All...the soundtrack from hell. It's so ferocious and relentless.

Least favorite Metallica album(s)? ReLoad

Favorite Metallica member(s) [past or present] & why? The one and only Jaymz. The guy is the heart of Metallica. A brave and courageous guy. Metallica would not be Metallica without him.

Favorite Metallica concert(s) that you have been to? The only one that I went to.

Favorite Metallica video(s)? Sad But True. It shows some cool concert footage from Live Sh*t.

Favorite setting to see Metallica live? Saw them once at Nassau Coliseum. Would love to see them at Giants Stadium some day for a Sanitarium tour.

Favorite Metallica era? Master of Puppets. Watching performances of them back then shows their hunger for kicking major ass.

What is your favorite Metallica moment(s) & why? Watching them perform at MTV Icon. They played loud, fast and it sort of confirmed that they are the active elder statesmen of metal.

What do you think of the Some Kind of Monster movie? A treat to watch! I identified with James because we have the same disease of alcoholism so it helped to watch how he stepped up to the plate to battle through his program of recovery while at the same time, recording a new album. Very inspiring.

What do you think about St. Anger? I call it the recovery record. I didn't expect a Black Album but it highlights a point in time where Metallica was going through personnel and personality changes. It just showed the world that Metallica is still around but it also shows that they are human. It's a good album but it's not great. I don't think it was intended to be a Grammy winner but a respectable release that almost didn't happen.

Metallica with long hair or short hair (or does it matter)? It doesn't matter. They kick ass either way. Hair doesn't make music. People make music.

Do you agree or disagree with Metallica's stand versus Napster? I agree with them. These guys are old school when it comes to purchasing music. I don't think it was so much a greed issue. I think they were just dumbfounded when they saw what Napster was doing. They had a valid point. I just wish that it did not become such a media circus. I stuck by them and I always will. They deserve kudos for standing up for themselves. The only band to do so as far as I know.

Are you excited about Rick Rubin being the new producer? Yes. I expect a well-produced work. Rick Rubin is reputable and I hope he brings out Metallica in such a way that it does not diminish their gargantuan sound. In other words, I sincerely doubt it will be a Bob Rock-esque album where Lars Ulrich's drums sound like tin. Those are the things that Rubin will pay attention to but these are entirely different circumstances as well.

Do you wish Jason was still the bass player? No. Jason did his time. Things changed and he needed to move on.

Prized Metallica Possession? My box set of Metallica: Binge and Purge. The ultimate Metallica pseudo-concerts.

How long do you think Metallica has left? I don't know but hopefully until they're too old to perform. 15 years maybe?

Why do you love Metallica? They have expressed feelings in their songs that I identify with. They perform in such a way that it moves me emotionally. They also believe in a collective oneness now that makes them even stronger. I grew up as a person with them. They are friends that I haven't met yet. They will always be a part of my life during the good and bad times.

And finally, in your opinion gimme one word to sum up Metallica. Survivors!
