Virginia Fuel's 4th T-Shirt design was done by our very own digital artisit -- George (of GTP Digital Designs). As you can see, he did a HELL of a job designing the logos -- especially the skull. George spent many, many, many (and I do mean MANY) hours working on the design. Here's the history on how this t-shirt came to be... Sometime in 2005/2006, I knew it was time to do another Virginia Fuel t-shirt, but I didn't know who to turn to. Our last chapter t-shirt was done in 2003. Attempts to locate Metallica artist, Mark Devito were unsuccessful. (He designed Virginia Fuel's 2000 t-shirt.) Trying to get Metallica artist, Dirty Donny (he designed the 2004 Metallica Club t-shirt, designed some Metallica picks, as well as artwork in Metallica's HQ) proved to be too expensive (for Virginia Fuel -- because we have no money! I'm not saying Dirty Donny's prices were too expensive, because they weren't. We, Virginia Fuel, as a local chapter (and thus non-profit) were looking to do a t-shirt design on the cheap.) I knew my good friend and Virginia Fueler, George, dabbled in the digital world. Sometime in 2006, I asked if he could do the next t-shirt design. He said, "YES!" and in fact he already had an image (in his head) of what the t-shirt should be -- A SKULL!!! That sounded great! He and I must have gone back and forth (via email) over the minor details of the design at least 100 times before the design was finalized. If you knew what goes into the details of this logo -- especially the skull -- it would make your head spin. And also notice the "James Hetfield" font which was used for the text. Virginia Fuel is very lucky to have such a talented artist. For those of you who DIDN'T pre-order a t-shirt, you're going to be very sorry!!!
