George recaps the Philly show Wachovia Center @ Philadelphia, PA - 1/17/09 For the day of in between D.C. and Philly, we decided that we just hadn't been cold enough all week, so Super Ron, Big Jeff, and I spent the day walking around D.C. and freezing some more. (Seriously, I think that was the coldest I was all week.)
 We headed up to Philly from D.C. the morning of the show. Ron and Jeff wanted to hit up Geno's for some Philly cheese steaks, so we ventured into Philly prior to heading to the arena. Finding a place to park near Geno's proved to be easier said than done, especially considering the fact that I can't parallel park to save my life. We ended up finding a spot that there was no way in the world I could ever get the car into. HAVE NO FEAR, though. Big Jeff is a master of parallel parking. I got out and let Jeff take the wheel to work his magic. I wish I had the pictures that Ron took of the end result. (To Jeff's credit, I think he did manage to get about 60% of the car into the space). I think Ron ended up eating 4 cheese steaks (2 from Geno's, 2 from Pat's). This was another one of those freeze your butt off days. We met up with Yuri and Matt at the arena along with Brad and Ron's friend Sean. They let us hang out inside for a little before kicking us out into the cold. Right before they let us in for early entry a handful of d-bags who had been "waiting in line" for will call cut in front of us. I let loose a verbal assault on them the whole way down to the floor. The woman who put my wristband on informed me that I wasn't being "very nice."
 You can see me in the bottom right of the picture Picture from MetOnTour.com Wait through The Sword. Wait through Machine Head. I was expecting something special at this show. After all, it's Philly. Nothing really special in the set, though. HOWEVER, there was something else special at the show. I saw the ANGRY ROMANIANS!!! That marks the third time I've seen them in Philly, despite the fact that they told us they came over from Romania just for the Metallica show the first time we met them.
