Jeff reviews the Philly show

Wachovia Center @ Philadelphia, PA - 1/17/09

  • George, Ron and I made the easy trip from DC to Philly. We had plenty of time to kill, so we had lunch at the 2 famous cheese steak places in Philly - Geno's Steaks and Pat's King of Stakes.

    Geno's Steaks

    Pat's King of Steaks
  • Both places were busy as hell, and finding a parking spot close was tough. After an unsuccessful attempt in showing off my parallel parking skills, we found a spot. Ron ate 2 cheese steaks from each place, and I had 1 from each. The cheese steaks were REALLY good. Poor George - they didn't have anything on the menu he was willing to eat.

  • Who's the winner of the best cheese steak you ask? I liked both, but Pat's had more meat on it. So the winner was - Pat's King of Steaks. If you're ever in Philly, you HAVE to eat at both places. The Philly cheese steaks were GREAT!

  • As the picture below proves, we froze our asses off again. Some may think standing in the freezing cold is stupid - and you're right, but I like the comraderie...the hanging out with my Metallica friend. Although, I wouldn't mind if Metallica chose NOT to tour the US during the winter.

  • While waiting inside for the show to start, George and I see our Angry Romanian friends walking around. HA HA!

  • The show was great as usual - is there such a thing as a bad Metallica show? Some of the highlights included "The Unforgiven", "Blackened" and "Whiplash". Plus, the new stuff off Death Magnetic gets better and better each time I hear it live.
